Instructions for setting up Google Earth to show the Intern data file
When you get Google Earth setup you will see the earth populated with the option flags of each of our interns from 1993 until Spring 2008. Many of these flags also have a link to the homepage of the business or organization at which the student worked. If you click on this link your browser will start and show that homepage.
First download and install the latest version of Google Earth (Version 5.0).

After Google Earth is running, select My Places from the left-hand side and then from the menu bar select ADD and then Network Link.
We currently have two KML files. One has the intern database sorted by option and the other by year. You should be seeing a blank network link form. Fill the form out so it looks like the picture below. This will load the intern data file that has been sorted by option.
Repeat the process of adding a network link file, for the other intern database file sorted by year.
On the left side of the Google Earth window you will now see a folder with a wire running below it. It will be labeled "Intern list by option". Click on the little box in front of this folder and all the intern option flags should appear around the world. If you click on the little arrow to the left of the box you just checked, you will see folders for each option. By un-checking a box you will hide the flags for that option around the world.
In this picture you will only have the CSU, Chico campus location and the Therapeutic Recreation (TR) option flags showing.
I am working on getting the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 interns added to the database.
